Your API data stays in your Google account
API Import is designed so your spreadsheet data, API responses, and saved API credentials remain safely stored within the Google Workspace™ ecosystem. We do not run a separate database that stores your imported API data.
We cannot see the rows you import
When you fetch data from an API, the result is written directly into your Google Sheets™ spreadsheet. That spreadsheet belongs to your Google account or organization, and access is controlled by Google's sharing and permission settings. API Import does not copy those rows into our own database.
Your API credentials stay with your sheet
API keys, bearer tokens, and other credentials you save in the add-on are safely stored within the Google Workspace™ ecosystem. They are used only to make the API requests you run or schedule, not stored on API Import servers.
We only process what is needed to run the feature
If you use the plain-English request feature, your prompt is sent to the AI provider so it can be turned into an API request. You should avoid putting secrets, private customer data, or sensitive business information directly into prompts.
Google permissions remain in your control
API Import runs as a Google Workspace™ add-on and uses the permissions you approve during installation. You can review or revoke add-on access from your Google account at any time.
Practical recommendations
- Use API keys with the minimum permissions needed for your workflow.
- Rotate credentials if someone leaves your team or no longer needs access.
- Share spreadsheets only with people who should see the imported API data.
- Do not paste passwords, private tokens, or sensitive customer data into AI prompts.
