Introducing API Import: Pull Any API Into Google Sheets™ With Plain English

What Is API Import?

API Import is a Google Sheets™ add-on that connects your spreadsheets to live data from any API — using plain English. No code, no formulas, no copy-pasting from dashboards.

You describe what you want:

"Get the last 30 days of Shopify orders and put them in this sheet."

API Import figures out the endpoint, parameters, and pagination — then writes the data directly into your spreadsheet.

Why We Built It

Analysts and marketers spend hours every week doing the same thing: logging into a tool, exporting a CSV, dragging it into Sheets, cleaning it up. The next day, the data is already stale.

We wanted to eliminate that loop. Live data, in your spreadsheet, on demand.

How It Works

  1. Install the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
  2. Open API Import from the Extensions menu in any Google Sheet.
  3. Type your request in plain English — for example: "Pull this week's GitHub issues from my repo."
  4. Review and run. API Import shows you the request it built, so you always stay in control.
  5. Data appears in your sheet — live, structured, and ready to work with.

What APIs Are Supported?

API Import works with any REST API. Pre-configured connectors are available for:

  • Shopify — orders, products, customers, inventory
  • HubSpot — contacts, deals, companies, activities
  • GitHub — issues, PRs, contributors, repo stats
  • YouTube Analytics — views, watch time, subscribers
  • Generic REST — any public or private API with an API key

OAuth-based APIs (Google, HubSpot, GitHub) are supported with a secure one-click connection flow.
